The Namibia Rugby Referee Society held their annual course on the weekend of 5 to 7 February 2016 at West Nest Lodge near Gobabis.

During the weekend fitness tests as well as a law exam were conducted. All referees are required to undergo fitness tests as well as writing the law exam. The law exam is the same which the elite panel referees of South Africa rugby referee society have written at their annual course that was held from the 14th to the 17th of January 2016 in Cape Town, South Africa. William Steenkamp attended the South African course on behalf of the NRRS and he was the presenter for the Namibian Course.

The new laws, that will be implemented in Namibia during 2016, was also discussed intensively and the society is embarking on an exercise to visit as many clubs and schools as possible to give more clarity on the new laws. The first engagement will be in Windhoek on Wednesday, 17 February 2016 at 18h00 at the Hage Geingob stadium. All Windhoek clubs and schools are invited to send their coaches to attend this session to get more clarity on the new laws.
